Description of the project

In the forestry, paper and paperboard industries, competition is very fierce and margins are low. This leads to the fact that in the sector companies are doing well with huge volume and security of supply in the eyes of their own customers. High volumes combined with very low margins mean enormous pressure to streamline processes and automate everything possible. The customer faced the challenge of internal logistics as well as the inability of the air transport systems to service it, different material could be cut at the beginning of the week than at the end of the week; with the air transport system, these materials would be messed up and the refund value of the materials would practically collapse to zero.

This, combined with the enormous annual volume of the side stream, almost 15 000 tonnes (15 million kg), made the costs, both in internal logistics and in transporting the side stream in the containers of the presses, quite massive. Kapasity came up with a solution for a press solution that allowed the collection of all materials being driven through the different production completely automatically, as well as the packing of side streams into press containers so that the weights could be driven on the road. In addition came an air transport system that could be remotely monitored, controlled and adjusted from flight. In practice, the customer was able to change the material to be driven on the production plane from the flight and adjust through the system which press the new material wanted to be packed on, so that, for example, different grades of cardboard do not mix with each other and get the maximum value and all recycled.

Large automatic storage
In the automated warehouse, huge volumes of goods move already every day, even in a week or a month. With the competition particularly fierce in the warehouse sector, a large part of the processes is automated and much attention is paid to what still goes into manual work.
